About this tour

This shore activity will begin with a visit to one of the oldest wineries in the city of Ica, Tambo de Tacama, located in the Ica region.
Tambo de Tacama is the first wine tourism center in Peru, which since September 2015 has integrated the three pillars of wine tourism: the vineyard, the winery, and the restaurant, promoting our country’s wine industry.
At Viña Tacama, premium wines, piscos, and sparkling wines are produced from select industrial grapes and the most advanced technology in the wine industry, achieving a highly competitive product.

Afterwards, we will begin our tour of Huacachina.
Huacachina is a desert oasis and a small village west of the city of Ica. There we can find and observe a green lagoon called Huacachina, surrounded by palm trees. The buggies travel through the high, rolling dunes surrounding the village, formed by the Paracas winds on this part of the Peruvian coast. And last but not least, we will visit the Huacachina Lagoon.
This attraction is an oasis located 4 kilometers from Ica, amidst the sand dunes.
The year-round warm climate and the healing power attributed to its waters (once rich in sulfur and salt substances) made Huacachina one of the most important and exclusive Peruvian spas around 1960.
Ica is known as the city of the eternal sun and its history. The region is perfect for a romantic getaway, with family and friends, and for sightseeing.

Itinerary

8:00 AM Our short wine and pisco tasting activities in Ica, along with buggies and sandboarding in Huacachina, will begin with pickup from the Paracas Port Terminal. Our official tour guide will be waiting for you at the San Martin Port Terminal pier, where the cruise ships arrive. He will hold a sign with your first and last name, or perhaps the name of the Excursions In Perú agency. Once he or she has located you, our official tour guide will direct you to our vehicle to begin your tour.

8:15 AM We board the vehicle to travel from Paracas to the city of Ica, a one-hour journey.

9:45 PM We arrive in Ica, where we begin the wine tasting tour “Tour Tradicional Bodega Tambo Tacama.”

This tour begins with a screening of the history of Tambo Tacama, while an explanation of how its exquisite wines are made.
A tour of its classic winery and modern plant will take you through the winemaking process.
You will be able to see the extensive hectares of grapes cultivated around the Hacienda.
You will taste four products in this traditional space: three wines and one pisco, explained by a specialized guide.

10:45 AM Our “Tambo Tacama Winery Traditional Tour” ends.

11:00 AM to 11:30 AM We depart for Huacachina Lagoon, where you will have time to observe nature and local crafts.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Free time for lunch (optional) in Huacachina.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM The tubular tour begins through the Iqueño Desert, where you will slide down the dunes on sandboards.

2:00 PM Finally, we board the vehicle to return to Paracas.

3:30 PM Our service concludes with a transfer to the Paracas Port Terminal.
